I am a conservationist and a vet and have worked with Temminck's red colobus (Piliocolobus badius temminckii; TRC) in The Gambia since 2013. I currently lead the Communities for Red Colobus (C4RC) project in the Sambel Kunda area of the Central River Region and at Pirang Community Forest in the West Coast Region. The project aims to grow capacity for TRC conservation in line with ReCAP priorities and develop sustainable, alternative livelihood projects to generate community revenue streams that do not depend on logging and charcoal production. I am a researcher based at the University of Cumbria in The UK.
